My creativity has always
been expressed through music or paint. I
studied both through college and have refreshed my painting studies through
workshops in recent years.
I love to explore the textural qualities and unexpected merging of water media over collage and various surfaces. I often start with white-on-white texturing and thus the creative dialogue of paint and my response to that communication begins the challenge. The contrast of texture and smooth surface also reminds me of the difficulties and joys we encounter in life and the surprises along the way. There are days I think there must be an easier way, but solving composition problems keeps me focused. To simplify my process I generally use only three or four colors in a painting, which also brings continuity. I have been published in Watercolor Magic magazine and honored to have been the guest artist in Senator Michael Machado’s offices in 2007. My artwork is in the permanent collection of the City of Elk Grove and numerous corporate and private collections. I am happy to be involved in my community through the KVIE Art Auction and Elk Grove Artists. |
