Artist Statement
|
I am a watercolor artist. I have always
been interested in every kind of art, experimenting in different
mediums until eighteen years ago when I went to a watercolor
demonstration. That was it, I started taking watercolor
classes the following week.
When painting in watercolor, it is magical. The dynamics of the colors mixing and mingling together on the paper or on my palette helps define the many moods I can create, capturing the soul and essence of my subject matter. I like my subjects to have a lot of bright light and shadows. This adds more drama, mystery, and dimension to my work. I also like to paint an ordinary subject from a different vantage or view point. My typical subject matter includes portraits, still life, and animals. My artwork ranges in price from seven hundred ($700) to fifteen hundred ($1,500) dollars. |
